Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data STAUS&BACH processes, why we do so and what your rights are. It also explains which cookies we use.
1. Who are we?
Just Another Store B.V. is responsible for processing your personal data on stausenbach.nl. Just Another Store B.V. is the owner of the STAUS&BACH online store.

Do you have a question about your privacy? Email us. We do not have a data protection officer; your question goes straight to us.
2. Which data do we use, and what for?
Your order
When you place an order, we use your name, address, email address, phone number if you provide one, the products you order and the status of your payment. We need these to process and deliver your order and to handle a return or refund. Legal basis: the purchase agreement with you.
Data that belongs in our accounting records, such as orders and invoices, is kept for 7 years. Dutch tax law requires this.
Payment
You pay on the Shopify checkout page. Your payment details go directly to the payment provider you choose. We do not see your full bank or card details. Shopify automatically checks orders for possible fraud. If that check holds up your order, we review it ourselves. Legal basis: the purchase agreement, and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud.
Customer service and withdrawals
If you email or call us, or use our return form or the withdrawal function, we use your message, your contact details, your order number and, for example, any photos you send. This allows us to help you and send you a confirmation. Legal basis: the purchase agreement, our legal obligation to confirm a withdrawal, or our legitimate interest in answering your question. We keep these messages for as long as we need them to handle your question and to answer follow-up questions or a complaint about the same order. If they belong in our accounting records, we keep them for 7 years.
Emails
We send you emails about your order, such as an order confirmation and a message when your parcel is on its way. These are part of your order.
We only send newsletters and offers if you have signed up for them, or if you are already a customer and the offer concerns similar products. Every email has a link to unsubscribe. Legal basis: your consent, or our legitimate interest in the case of existing customers.
Measuring how the store is used (statistics)
Only if you consent to statistics, we measure which pages and products you view, what you search for and what you add to your cart. For this, you receive a random visitor number in a cookie. We also use the page address, the page you came from, the type of device, your browser, your screen size and your IP address. If you place an order, your visitor number is included with the order. This shows us which visits lead to an order.
This data goes to our own measurement system, which we manage ourselves, and to Google Analytics and Shopify. Legal basis: your consent. We keep it for as long as we need it to improve the store; after that, we delete or anonymize it.
Measuring advertising (marketing)
Only if you also consent to marketing, we remember which ad brought you to us. This is stored in the link you clicked, for example an ad on Google. We then also pass on, from our own server, which pages you view and what you add to your cart to the platform of that ad. If you place an order, we include the order (amount and products), along with your email address, phone number, name and address as a hash. This is a code from which your data cannot be read back; the platform can only compare it with data it already has about you. The platform uses this to see which ads work. Legal basis: your consent.
These platforms also process the data for their own purposes. Please read their own privacy policies: Google.
3. Who do we share your data with?
We never sell your data. We only share it when necessary:
- Shopify (Shopify International Limited, Ireland): the platform that runs our store, checkout, payments and the emails about your order. Shopify processes your data on our behalf.
- The payment provider you choose at checkout, such as your bank, your credit card company or PayPal. They are responsible for their own checks.
- The carrier that delivers your parcel: your name, your address, and your email address or phone number for delivery updates.
- Suppliers of our systems, such as for email, stock and shipping, and the hosting of our measurement system. They only process your data on our behalf.
- Google, only if you consented to marketing. See above.
- Our accountant and the government, if the law requires us to.
We have made agreements with parties that process data on our behalf about how they handle it.
4. Data outside the European Union
Some of these parties also process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in Canada or the United States. This only happens with the safeguards required by the GDPR. For example, a decision by the European Commission that the country offers sufficient protection, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
5. Cookies
A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device. On your first visit, we ask in a notice what you are happy with. Before you choose, we only place the cookies that are needed for the store to work, and we measure nothing. Declining is just as easy as accepting. Do you want to change your choice later? Then clear the cookies for stausenbach.nl in your browser. On your next visit, we will ask again.
